Sounding out letters to form words helped the students create their poster for our
Grade Pre K-Grade 2 Literacy Fair.
The Pre k students decided what they would like to be when they grow up.
After drawing a picture of themselves in their chosen profession,
they also drew equipment they would be using.
After drawing the equipment,
they tried to write the words associated with that equipment by using phonetics.
"J" would like to be a Police Officer. He will use a phone to call 9-1-1 when people need an ambulance.
Sometimes he will use a flashlight, a whistle and handcuffs.
MEMORIAL DAY IS A TIME TO REMEMBER OUR FALLEN SOLDIERS
For Memorial Day, our students learned what it means to be a soldier.
I asked them to go home and ask their parents and grandparents if they were soldiers.
They were then told to ask them stories about other soldiers who we could
"remember" on Memorial Day.
