Welcome to our Dr. Seuss Week

First we created the cat in the hat hat.

Next we used a square, rectangle, circle and ovals to create
Thing 1 and Thing 2.
We wrote the words and numbers on the tummy.

As part of STREAM, we tried to create the tallest tower out of small red cups, popsicle sticks and clothespins.  We worked in teams of two to build our communication and cooperating skills.

After our principal, Mrs. Comiskey read the Dr. Seuss book
  My Nest is Best
we all tried to create a nest from recycled materials.  It wasn't very easy.  But persistence paid off.
We all created something in which our baby bird could live and be safe.
The nest had to have sides to hold in the baby bird.  It also could not fall apart when the wind blew.
Here are some examples of our nests.

We really loved listening to the story.

We wore spots or dots.  Then Mrs. Beres read the book,
Put Me In the Zoo

We made spots on our dog who wanted to go to the zoo.
But he really belonged in the circus.

We also listened to the story,
Ten Apples Up On Top
We tried to carry 10 beanbags on our head.
THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!

But, we had fun trying.
(At least, most of us had fun trying).

Community service project

Pre K-4 and Kindergarten created flowers and vases for the Holy Rosary Altar Society "tea".
We cut out circles, glued cupcake papers and pom poms in the middle.  We placed these on wooden skewers to hold them in our painted bottles with shimmering bags and ribbons over it.

It was fun working together.

When the ladies came to collect the vases, we sang a song about family.  After all, we all belong in God's family.

THEY LOVED IT!!!

WE CELEBRATED OUR 100TH DAY

FIRST WE DRESSED UP AS IF WE WERE 100 YEARS OLD.
DON'T WE LOOK GREAT?

Next we made hats that said we were 100 days smarter.
We put 100 stickers on our hat.

Finally, we had a dance.  Since 100 years ago it was 1920, we danced to music from the 20s.
Then we danced to music from the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s.  Some of the dances were CRAZY!!!

BUT WE HAD LOTS OF FUN CELEBRATING
